Enchanted Tree Greetings Card - Ivy

£2.20

A pentacle is formed from leaves and stems of ivy.

Reproduced from original paintings by Peter Pracownik, one of England's most popular pagan and fantasy artists, these beautiful cards also include information about the folklore and traditions of the trees.

It is blank inside where you'd write your own message, but there is a short informative piece about the symbolism of the tree printed at the bottom of the left-hand page as you have the card open in front of you. THe text inside this card reads: "The Ivy (Celtic name Gort) is sacred to the Lunar Goddess and represents communication between worlds. It is symbolic of pure love and initiation."

You can see pictures of how the text is laid out inside the card, and also of the decorative envelope that comes with it if you look at the second and third pictures on the image carousel.

This card comes cellophane wrapped and is 120mm x 170mm (6 and 3/4 inches x 4 and 3/4 inches).

Ivy reminds us of the movement of the heavens and the way this is reflected on the earth. It has the ability to bind all things together. It can wander freely, linking tree to tree, or form dense thickets that block out the light and restrict passage. Ivy brings shelter or overwhelming darkness and reminds us that where there is life, there is also death. Ivy represents the wandering of the soul in its search for enlightenment and it carries a warning to be sure of the direction of your desires so that you avoid being ensnared by them.
