The makers of these wonderful pieces are Tom and Nadine, who live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains of California (along with the mighty Yorick). This is what they say about their work:

Any symbol may be a doorway, a path or a vehicle, of great use and benefit in the spiritual quest. Some are as old as humanity itself, some are as new as this moment. Each symbol embodies a rich treasury of knowledge, experience and wisdom. Some arise from a single spiritual or religious tradition while others are illuminated and accessible by the light of several, sometimes diverse, traditions. Truth knows no boundaries.

Because we know that any piece of jewelry might be worn for many years and reflect great value to its owner, we try very hard to produce objects with real quality. Our purpose is to provide the various symbols of truth and transformation with authenticity, power and beauty.

You'll find that the stones we use are very high quality, we always purchase the best we can find and, where appropriate, as in the case of moonstones for example, we orient them to achieve both harmony and maximum effect.

At Otherwise Trading we keep in stock a selection of Tom and Nadine's jewellery. However, you can order anything from their entire range - it will be crafted especially for you by Tom, with your choice of stone, and will be delivered to you within 14 days (UK and EU).

"Originally used for ceremonial purposes, the shield was created in approximately the third century B.C.E. and was found in the Thames in 1857. The design interweaves animal or bird faces with womb-like features around a central circle to indicate a focusing of primal creative forces. The emphasis on the numeral four suggests a connection with the four directions. The shield represents a high point in the development of Celtic art."
