The Celts celebrated, as modern pagans do, eight major festivals throughout the year, beginning at Samhain. This festival, also called Summer's End, was the turn of the year.

Christianised as Easter, this is the festival that celebrates new birth and fertility; this is why its symbols are the egg and the hare, which explains the Easter bunny. Thought you'd like to know that.
