colour therapy
The earliest forms of therapy included the use of coloured gems and sunlight. Obviously, there is now a wider range of options available and many practitioners combine the use of colour with other complementary therapies such as aromatherapy, reflexology, crystals and yoga. The principle behind colour therapy is that each colour in the spectrum has a frequency, wavelength and energy associated with it, which the body is able to absorb. These energies can have an effect on the nervous system, the endocrine system and hormone levels. They can also have an effect on the more subtle energies of the chakra system, which affects our mental, emotional, psychological and physical states of health.
