When he encounters The Chariot, The Fool is given the opportunity to take control of his own destiny for the first time. This is exciting,and daunting. What if he makes the wrong choice? Or takes the wrong path? Driving forwards though, The Chariot does not stop to allow such anxieties to take hold, and forges ever forward with determination, encouraging clear sightedness and confidence.

This is the first step of maturity for The Fool, he is now riding his own path alone, having taken the advice and love of mentors and parents; he now has to control his own persona, which in itself will lead to several choices and conflicts as he learns to understand what makes him tick.

When we have The Chariot’s energy in our lives we are likely to find ourselves being driven forwards with purpose and control, although a little fearful of the journey itself there is no doubt that the outcome will be positive and for our higher good. Taking the reins of The Chariot is an important step as it helps us as individuals to take control of our own lives and our own destiny.

Making good use of all our knowledge, experience and lessons thus learnt, The Chariot responds to our every need and takes us to the next step on the journey. The trip will be fast and furious and there will be times when anxiety steps in and questions whether a different path should be taken. This is where our intellect and emotions may conflict, or our spirit and intellect. At this point resolution will be required before the journey can continue, and this in itself will help find the right direction.

Whenever we feel focused, assertive and completely sure of where we are going, then The Chariot is with us, driving us forwards and getting us to our destination. Remember though that decisions and new directions presented to us are part and parcel of our inner journey. There is no right or wrong, just another lesson to learn depending on the direction you decide to take.
