When he meets the High Priestess, the initial impulse of The Fool is to rush behind her and look behind the drawn veil, imprinted with images of pomegranates, to see what is there. She stops him and asks what he thinks he will see if he simply pulls open the curtain. The Fool has no answer for The High Priestess as he does not know what to expect, nor indeed if he is prepared for what he might find.

In this first encounter he learns the need for patience, reflection and preparation. When we meet The High Priestess in a reading she teaches us that we have much to learn about ourselves and that it is time to face that knowledge and to take the time to prepare ourselves for the journey within. Jumping into inner counseling or inner revelations can leave us shaken and emotionally drained, but if we take the time to prepare for this, and approach the exploration with care, positive intent and understanding it is very possible that the information we discover will be invaluable to our progress as fulfilled individuals.

The High Priestess represents the unknown side of ourselves that we must explore in order to become fully developed and balanced. When searching for meaning The High Priestess will often appear, as in order to understand the impact of external forces on ourselves, we must understand our own inner forces first. The High Priestess then tells us to find time to learn about ourselves through meditation, counseling, and our dreams.

When you meet The High Priestess, pay more attention to your dreams as a message will be attempting to come through and dreams are the gateway to the subconscious self helping with lessons you need to learn and secrets ready to be revealed.
