Celestial Hare Pendant Necklace

£9.99

Part of our range of pendants inspired by mystical and magical symbolism.

The hare, sacred child of the goddess, dances across the face of the full moon, ever-bright. Graceful in its zigzag path, it eludes the hunter. Mischievous, inventive, fertile, and beautiful, it is the totem animal of the Greenwood and can be worn for quick thinking.

Crafted in lead free pewter and supplied with a black cord and satin drawstring gift pouch, this charm was lovingly designed by Briar with reference to the ancient forest lore of the British Isles. They are supplied with a highly detailed leaflet which explains the heritage of each piece.

If you look on the image carousel, there are pictures of the pendant with the green satin bag it comes with and of the leaflet.

The pendant measures 34mm in diameter.

Throughout the world, there are long-spoken tales of hares; from the Americas to the Far East, from Africa to Europe, the hare is embedded in the folk myths of our ancestors. It is associated in mythology with the Moon, the celestial skies and the Sun, with fertility, the dawn, cunning and bravery. There is evidence of hare mythology in ancient pottery, coins, seals, hieroglyphs and in oral history.
