This box matches our hawthorn green man wall plaque.
The oval lid has a high relief foliate face, complete with hawthorn leaves, hawthorn berries and other autumn fruit. The box is coloured in a rich array of greens, reds and russets.
The box is 130mm x 95mm across and 70mm high.
Hawthorn is respected as a tree of enchantment under the protection of the faery realms. It's also a symbol of love, marriage and fertility, due to its association with the May Day festival of Beltane, when the Hawthorn is in bloom. May is another name for the Hawthorn.
